  1. Did you already know: Google „censors“ information anyway. This is the first and only purpose of a search engine. It leaves out everything that it deems not interesting for the users. Let it be determined by an algorithm, let it be determined by the government, the infrastructure for „censoring“ can be used by many entities. And this non-algorithmic censoring happens everywhere, according to the local laws. Even in the USA. So stop bitching about Google and better think in what hands you laid your souvereignity on what data you want to see. You gave it to some corporation, you praised an algorithm they use, you gave all your desires to a stupid robot. Now there you have it. Please understand that there was no reason to trust Google in the first place. At least some people wake up now.

Also: They are not evil. They just obey local laws. They became the main point of focus because in most minds Google is equal to the Internet. Google became the single point of failure. You remember the promise of the decentralized internet? It is still there somehow, but why to use it when Google, the big central octopus, works so good? It may not find everything and not exactly what you want, but it is fast and there is a constant stimulus for you. Bah!
